Featured Couple: Kelsey & Kevin
Kelsey and Kevin are some of the most wonderful people you will ever meet! We were able to ask them a few questions about their engagement.
Where was your first date?
We first met at IU through the best man however sparks did not fly the first time we met. Then a couple of months later, we went to the Indy 500 together with friends and realized that there was something there. We planned to explore the IU greenhouse for our first date but unfortunately it was closed. Instead, we walked through the IU campus and ate ice cream on Kirkwood Avenue. We have been together ever since that day.

Tell us about the proposal? How did he pop the question?
We got engaged at the Indianapolis 500. We have gone to five of them together. We started the day by riding our bikes to the track. It’s always a good kick start to the day. We parked the bikes and made our way to the Snake Pit. While we were walking, Kevin dropped an umbrella and then another. I went to scoop up the umbrellas and heard him say something behind me. I turned, and he was down on one knee. I quickly responded with a yes. We spent the rest of the day celebrating with friends and family.

Tell us your favorite part of being engaged?
Being engaged has been an exciting time for both of us. We have enjoyed new experiences together but have also really appreciated the time we have had with our family and friends during our showers, bachelor and bachelorette parties. We are ready to continue to celebrate and prepare for the next adventures ahead of us.

What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
We can’t wait to have our family and friends together to celebrate this important life moment with us.

Where are you going on your honeymoon?
We like to go on and experience many adventures together. We have traveled all over the US but are finally going over seas to Thailand. We are excited to explore and learn more about a new culture but also relax and enjoy the beaches.
